July 4th in Kuwait

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July. We really enjoyed our day, but missed the fireworks and celebrations back home. We attended the festivities at The US Embassy.

This event was really all about giving our troops here in Kuwait a fun day.

There were fun activities for them to do like this water soccer thing. The troops were having a blast with it.

And of course they had the water slide set up for the kiddos, so that was how Calvin spent his time.

Mommy forgot to bring the water shoes and Alayna is such a girl and doesn't like the grass sticking on her bare feet so Lorna had to carry her back to the table.

They had quite the spread of food. All the normal 4th food to include hot dogs and watermelon. For dessert they had a cake made of lots of cupcakes to make the flag. The kids each had a blue cupcake with a star on top. They LOVED all that frosting!
Here they are gobbling it up.

And a quick video to give you an idea of the atmosphere....

When we got home we did an early bath and then a special movie night in the living room with sleeping bags and popcorn. The kids just loved it and keep asking when they will get to do that again!

Overall it was a great day. God Bless the USA!

Week One - Summer Vacation

The kids have been out of school for a whole week now, and I am actually enjoying it! (I am positive that will change before September rolls around) We have been keeping busy with trips to the pool and mornings out with friends. Unfortunately I have been a bad blogging mommy and failed to take any pictures. Sorry. I am going to try to get some good pics in the next 2 weeks before we head to Wisconsin. The heat here is really unbelievable.....it has been over 120* everyday and also very dusty. We love living in Kuwait, but the heat and dust is really getting to all of us. We are so looking forward to a break from the heat while we are in Wisconsin. I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July weekend. We will be celebrating at the Embassy; watch for pictures next week.

God Bless America!
